Tamilnadu All Media Journalists Union (TAMJU) - A Crucial Advocacy for Press Freedom. It’s been registered under labour union act. It’s the only journalist’s union in the state affiliated with National (IJU) & International Journalists Union (IFJ).
In recent years, the role of digital influencers has become increasingly vital, particularly in a democratic society where freedom of expression is essential for accountability and transparency. TAMJU has formed a Digital Media Protection Council (DMPC) with experts and emerged as a crucial player in advocating for the rights and welfare of Digital media professionals, fostering an environment where press freedom can thrive.

- TAMJU - DMPC amid a growing awareness of the need for collective representation among Digital media workers, TAMJU was formally established to address the grievances of journalists, protect their rights, and promote ethical journalism.
- TAMJU - DMPC is committed to stand up against each and every act by both State and non-State actors aimed to silence the Digital media and gag the truth on the one hand and on the other perseveres in upholding stellar standards of journalism ethics and high reporting standards. Over the decades and the rapidly changing the digital media scenario with the advancement of its functioning involves working towards the welfare of journalists. It continues to work on wage conditions, decent salary/wages, gender equality, health and rights, legal support, etc.
- TAMJU - DMPC does not have any political leanings and is an independent organisation of journalists solely to defend a non-aligned and responsible press & Digital Media.
It is alert to changing times in this digital world, realises the impact of social media on both traditional and electronic forms and acts against all attacks on free digital media whether employed full or part time or freelancers. Its essential purpose is raising its voice in Central and State Government institutions related to media such as the Press Council and Central Press Accreditation Committee as well to stand up for freedom of expression.
